90% of Africa’s great businesses collapse within 5 years of their founder’s death. There are many reasons that cause this but the main reason is because Africans haven’t faced death or exit as an obvious necessity. Most Africans wish about succession. They talk about succession. They think about succession. But they do not prepare for succession. Failure to prepare is preparation to fail. In comparison, other countries have learnt the art of succession. The Indians for example use family succession strategies that are engraved within their cultures. There are a number of companies that have thrived for more than 100 years world over. What makes this possible? Truth is; this doesn’t just happen. Effort, strategy and preparation goes into making succession successful.  We do this through 3 main programs:
  1. Succession course: This is a 3 months program where business leaders engage in workshops to understand the key ingredients of succession. These classes help the business leaders to explore many strategies to succession and begin enforcing them.
  2. Master class: This is a 6 months program where we work with the business leader to begin implementing the succession strategy of choice. The business leader works with the team at Stre@mline to draft a succession plan and implement the succession plan.
  3. Apprentice program: This is where we work with the business leader to actually  begin taking breaks away from the business. We work with their successors to take over the business.

Samuel Mugisha D.C.


Samuel Mugisha D.C is a Ugandan entrepreneur and business consultant who has spent the last 12 years consulting for international companies. He holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from the University of Nicosia, Cyprus and a MSc. Advanced Computer Science from the University of Manchester, UK.

Samuel is a business man himself. He is CEO at Streamline Health Tech, a Uganda healthcare software company that serves more than 1.5 million people in Uganda. He also co-founded a non-for-profit NGO, TatuNurse which works to equip nurses in public facilities. Samuel has received numerous international awards for his work in healthcare.

He previously worked at Mbarara University of Science and Technology as the Head of Department for the Software Incubation and Innovations Unit.
